This is my first post under my own name for a blog that is mine.

Previous blogging efforts on my part have either been on other people’s sites, or under one or other pseudonym for reasons of legality and diversion.

I am starting this without a clear plan. I know I don’t want to create a self-indulgent expose of my life and the people in it. I honestly don’t think anyone cares that much about what I’m up to from day to day. I also don’t want it to be a forum for controversy and trouble-making. That’s fun while it lasts, but it doesn’t last long.

I guess it just makes sense that given my close ties with the Web professionally, I ought to have a place on it that I kind of belong. A place to fit in. And so this is it.
